Panasonic Announces Android-Powered Toughbook Tablet

Panasonic has announced an Android-powered Toughbook tablet will join their product stable in Q4.
There are still blanks to be filled in as to specific product offerings; the exact version of Android that will power the hardcore tablet was left out of the press release, for example, as was the specific release date.
However, unlike Panasonic’s first Toughbook tablet (the H1 Field Tablet), this version will offer tablet feel and functionality familiar to consumer tablet users–slim design, multi-touch display, “full shift” battery life, GPS and optional 3G/4G embedded modem–but with the increased security, durability, and reliability demanded by enterprise customers. (Case in point: a daylight-viewable 10.1-inch XGA matte screen and active stylus for point-of-sale functionality.)
