Comcast and Skype have announced a partnership to let Comcast customers make HD video calls on their television, reports Richard Lawler for Engadget. To  make it work they’ll just need a camera, adapter and a special remote. Comcast says video will initially be limited to 720p will be upgraded to 1080p eventually. Lawler says that while Skype has already partnered with several TV manufacturers for HD calling in the living room, working through cable boxes means a much greater prospective installed base.

With Skype offered through the cable box, Comcast customers will be able to make and receive Skype video and audio calls, or send instant messages via Skype on a television while watching TV at the same time. Trials begin in the next few months.

I sure hope DISH Network is going to have something like
this in the works soon but for now I will stick with DISH because of there
great rates and HD free for life! I was amazed on how good the picture was and
the huge amount of HD channels that I had to choose from, no one ever told me
how many they had and when you’re a new DISH customer you can get up to three
HD receivers for free and 3 months free of Blockbuster by mail offers. A
co-worker at DISH told me DISH has twice as many channels as any other provider
and they have the lowest all digital prices nation wide. Check out this link http://besttvforme.com/.
