Citibank Admits It Was Hacked

Citibank is only now revealing that it was hacked in May. Yes, back in May. The company confirms that the names, account numbers, and contact information for roughly 200,000 customers were accessed during the breach. Although key information such as dates of birth and social security numbers and card numbers were not taken, customers could still be at risk for phishing scams.

As you can imagine, this isn’t sitting too well with customers; the frequency of these breaches, whether they be financial services companies, entertainment, or social media firms, as well as the companies’ seeming inability to prevent them, make consumers more than a little concerned.
