Ever wished you could see through the eyes of another person, a la Being John Malkovich? While finding a tunnel that thrusts you into someone else’s subconscious is still unlikely, one company is building the next best thing: Glasses that broadcast everything you see to social networks.
ZionEyez, a social media company based in Seattle, is developing a pair of glasses with an embedded video camera that continuously records everything you see in 720p, transmitting it wirelessly to social media sites for everyone to see, according to Mashable. The glasses transmit the images via Bluetooth to an Eyez app on an iPhone or Android mobile device, and from there, the video is streamed through wireless networks where the content can be viewed live. The glasses also come with 8GB of flash memory built-in and a mini-USB port to transfer videos to the computer for later editing and broadcasting.
Powered by funding platform Kickstarter, ZionEyez are still looking for investors for the final development of the product. Now that technology is dependable for smooth streaming, these glasses have potential to be the ultimate form of social media.
