Now that the summer is upon us there are so great social media events I wanted to mention. There are few things more valuable than attending a great conference. I have made such incredible contacts by attending conferences and have learned so much. If you really want to know about what is going on in social media, I highly recommend you start attending as many of these events as you can. Here are three of my favorites:
The Aspen Ideas Festival
This yearly festival normally brings in the biggest names in the world. Speakers like Arianna Huffington, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffett are just a few of the heavy weights who normally attend this event. If you can gain entry to this one, you MUST go!
This year the festival will have thought leaders like David Axelrod, Thomas Freidman, Frank Gehry, Sandra Day O’Conner, and so many others.
I have the great honor of being one of the speakers this year. There are 12 tracks that the festival will cover from June 27th – July 3rd in Aspen, Colorado. I will be a part of the Social Media track and I can’t wait! For more information on who else is speaking, go here: Aspen Ideas Festival Speakers
The Evo Conference
This conference is one of the newer ones in the circuit but it’s getting a lot of attention and some great names. I will be one of the key note speakers at the event this year. Other featured speakers will be Jon Sinclair and Andrea Wishom who are two of the biggest producers at Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo. More information about this event.
The 140 Conference is the brainchild of Jeff Pulver. Pulver is well known for creating a little thing that everyone uses called, Vonage. Jeff is an incredible person and so giving. He created this conference two years ago and has been touring the world with it to create a global community around Twitter… and it’s working! I got the opportunity to speak at this last big conference in L.A. Here’s a clip of my speech:
I won’t be able to attend this year but Jeff has created an amazing list of speakers including Ann Curry, Mayor Cory Booker, fashion mogul Marc Ecko, Foursquare’s Dennis Crowley, Deepak Chopra, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, and MANY MORE! More information about the event.
