Twitter Curse Holds for Idol Final

If you’re committed enough to American Idol to stick with the show even after Simon and Paula have bailed, you should know not to Tweet about the contestant you want to win. Apparently, we still haven’t learned.
According to Mashable [1], the “Twitter Curse”—the tenth season’s phenomenon that the number of tweets for Idol contestants after their performances predicts who will get voted off the show—proved itself right again after final elimination. Southern belle Lauren Alaina got more tweets than similarly Southern crooner Scotty McCreery, who won the singing competition.
Based on data from social TV iPhone app Yap.TV Pulse for Idol [2], this is the fourth consecutive week that the contestant with the highest number of tweets has been sent home. Read more from Mashable [1].
