Import Foursquare Data into Google Places

“Dance 10, Looks 3″ might be the best way to sum up Google’s idea for Foursquare implementation with Google Places. It’s a great idea, but when paired with RSS, it’s a dud, says MG Siegler at TechCrunch. And that might be the reason neither company is singing this feature’s praises to the rafters.

Siegler notes the process (lots of cutting and pasting) will leave many users saying “meh” rather than “yayy,” especially if they have a long history of check-ins dating back to, say, Dodgeball days. And Google’s lackluster pledge to do their “best” to sync locations up with venues in Google Places is not the biggest confidence booster.
