Amazon now joins Walmart, Target, Best Buy and eBay which all give instant trade-in quotes for used electronics. Its new Electronics Trade-In Store offers customers a way to trade in things like tablets, cell phones, MP3 players, cameras, and GPS devices for an Amazon.com gift card, regardless of where the device was originally purchased.

If you have a gadget that Amazon lists as eligible for trade-in, you can click the “Trade-In” button to add it to your trade-in shipment, which can include multiple items. The best part: Amazon will let you print a pre-paid label so the shipping is free. After the product is received and inspected by Amazon, a gift card will be deposited into your Amazon.com account, typically in less than 48 hours.
