At Google’s I/O conference in San Francisco, Google announced its next version of the Android mobile operating system, according to VentureBeat. The newest update dubbed “Ice Cream Sandwich” will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year, hoping to create an operating system and applications that will work the same on any Android device.

To standardize its system, Google will reportedly import Android Honeycomb’s tablet apps onto its other devices, as well as making the operating system completely open source. Google also revealed another impressive technology intended for Ice Cream Sandwich: a camera that could actually tell where a person is looking, where voices are coming from, and adjust and zoom based on who is speaking.
