A little Chrome extension could become the next big thing in the social networking space. WhoWorks.at lets you know who in your LinkedIn networks has been hired or promoted at the site you happen to be browsing. Singing high praises to WhoWorks.at, TechCrunch’s Alexia Tsotsis, who calls the extension “a godsend” for recruiters, says that it could be the reason for young people to use LinkedIn, which has long had a reputation for catering to the mature set (read: old).

WhoWorks.at, is a dowloadable extension that lets you easily view your first-, second- and third-level connections, and check out who has been making big career moves. With planned Rapportive and Facebook integration, social networkers of all ages could soon happily coexist—but not just yet: public APIs are still not available and the aforementioned Facebook integration “will come further down the line, depending on user feedback,” says creator John Britton. For now, you can sign up for the beta. Read more at TechCrunch.
